Keep Christ in Christmas
With only a few days left before Christmas, the stores are bustling, cookies are baked, and friends and family are gathering for various holiday festivities. We sometimes get so caught up in the frenzy of the holiday that we forget why we are celebrating in the first place – the birth of Christ.
Before all the presents are opened and the food is gone, remember to do some good for others as He would have done:
- Be generous.
- Be considerate.
- Keep the driveway and sidewalk clear of snow for an elderly neighbor (if/when we get snow again).
- Get the family together to clean out all the closets and dressers. Donate usable clothing, shoes, blankets and other items to a program for needy families.
- Wish people you meet a good day and a MERRY Christmas!
- Sing Christmas carols at nursing homes, hospitals or Senior Centers!
- Send a Christmas card to someone you have not seen or talked to in years.
- Invite a friend or neighbor who will be alone to share your Christmas celebration.
On behalf of myself, Pam and everyone here at Naperville Senior Center, we wish you and your family a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
